The Government College Of Teacher Education, Calicut On 14th march 2016 conducted an “AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON EYECARE AND FREE CONSULTATION CAMP “ . This was organized by the Hindi Department . Smt. Hicky Devdas HOD of Hindi Department delivered the welcome speech .The inauguration of the logo “SUNETRA” was done by our beloved Principal Dr .Abdul kadar Parambat .
The chief guest of the programme Dr. SHANTHI SUNIL ( Chief Medical officer AHALIYA FOUDATION EYE HOSPITAL ) delivered a very effective talk on eye care. This was followed by an interaction session .Later on a free eye check up was conducted under the leadership of AHALIA FOUNDATION EYE HOSPITAL , CALICUT .
The Malayalam department of GCTE organized commemoration of Sri ONV Kuruppu on 29/3/2016 the function was inauguration by Dr. K Ramakrishnan, Head of the department. The commemoration speech was delivered by the chief guest Kaithapram Viswanathan Namboothiri .Dr. K Ramakrishnan honored with “ponnada “ to the chief guest. The manuscript magazine “Saargavasantham” by the students was launched by Kaithapram Viswanathan Namboothiri. It was received by Smitha teacher. The function was made colorful and melodious with songs film music show. The poem “amma”was presented as a dance drama by the students.
The Mathematics association of the government college of teacher education on behalf of the Pi -day celebration conducted a much enriched class on ‘mathematics for competitive exams’ .Sri. C.G. Shibu, Assistant professor Dept. of Mathematics, M.A.M.O College Manassery enlightened the session with very inspiring and interesting class. The participation of students and the teachers made the event a memorable one.
The Government College of Teacher Education conducted a RESEARCH colloquium where the Ph D scholars and second year M.Ed students enchanted their views and presented papers .the former principle at GCTE ,Smt.R Krishnakumari officially inaugurated the seminar in the presence of Dr. Abdul Khader Parambat (Principal of GCTE). It was a successful event as the Ph D scholars presented their thesis and the M Ed students discussed the progress of their works.
The Government College of Teacher Education on behalf of the women cell and IQSC conducted an enrichment session on the Topic ‘role of teachers in ensuring gender justice ‘.as a part of women’s day celebration, Dr. Moly Kuruvila The director of university women studies and associated professor decorated the session with a vibrant and inspiring talk .the participation of students and the staff made the event interactive
on 9th march, 2016 the GCTE received a heartfelt memento as a tribute from one of her promising valumni Abilashj thiruvoth .it was a painting, named polyphony of Indian education which pictorially represents the history of Indian education .the meeting was presided over by our colle principal Dr.Abdul Kader parambat and inaugurated by renowned Malayalam writer and recipient of academy awards Sri Subash chandran.
THE government college of teacher education witnessed yet another achievement .inaugurating of our research centre in education, under the University of Calicut. The honorable Mayor of Kozhikode Sri. VKC Mammed Koya officially inaugurated the function. The staff and union along with the M.Ed and B.Ed students supported the event with their presence. The college also presented tokens of appreciation to honor the PhD holders of the GCTE fraternity.
We hope our research centre can do service to humanity through devoted and disciplined endeavors
