Quality management
IQAC: IQAC motivates and supports all the curricular and co- curricular activities of the college, and it also ensures the continuous improvement in all the operational aspects quality of the institution.
Research and Extension:
Carried out a research project entitled ‘A Comparative Study of the Tribal Students
Studying in Mono and Multi-cultural Environment’ at Wynad in the year 2005-06.
Resource support in setting question papers for various Universities, SSLC, HSC, and PSC examinations
Framing University, Higher Secondary and High School Curriculum
Module preparation and in- service training programme of the General Education department
To prepare Text Books and Hand Books for the General Education Department
As subject experts in Kerala Public Service Commission interview board
As judges in Science, Social Science, Mathematics fairs and Youth festivals in the state
and district levels
Moreover, the students of the college carried out an Educational Survey as part of field work at charitable institutions at Thavannoor, Malappuram District
Activities
The activities of the college began since 1950 under the name “college associations” and the reports are recorded properly from1953-54 onwards. In the beginning the students were represented in the college activities through election to portfolios like Association president, Vice president and Secretary. The activities are mainly seminars and symposiums. But later on cultural programmes were included on special occasions. There was a drastic change in the type of activities since the introduction of college union election by the University.
As a professional college the institution attaches great importance to extension activities and outreach programmes, other community oriented programmes like community living camps, field work and survey, visits to charitable institutions, student support activities like guidance and placement services etc. The college has undertaken the following activities in the last three years.
Out reach programmes
The institution helped to construct a house for a deserving family of a student of this college by contributing Rs.56, 150/-
A tape recorder was donated to a blind student of this institution
Financial assistance was given to a number of students of this college to complete the B Ed course.
Organized cleaning campaigns in the premises of major city hospitals.(Mental Hospital and General Hospital, Kozhikode).
Visited ‘Kanavu’, a school solely meant for tribal education in Wynad, and provided financial support.
Student Support Service
Guidance and counseling Cell: Personal and professional growth of the trainee is supported through continuous guidance and if necessary through counseling either individually or in small groups.
Placement cell: The institution arranges campus selection of teachers for several reputed unaided CBSE/State schools within and outside state placement
Grievance Cell: The grievance cell of the institution attends to the grievances of the stakeholders of the institution. The College has adopted a three –tier grievance redressal mechanism. ie. The
